Not qualify for an electric wheelchair

A war veteran who was told he did not qualify for an electric wheelchair despite having both legs amputated has been inundated with offers of help.

Alf Booth, 78, from Heanor, Derbyshire was told by Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust that he did not “fit the criteria” for an electric vehicle.

Several people have since said they have a wheelchair they could donate.

Mr Booth may also qualify for a custom-made chair as a result of his National Service with the Royal Air Force.

Diane Morley, from the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, said she was hopeful Mr Booth would be successful. Gwen ifill wheelchair, Bottomless girls, Steve Fossett Fake death found, Playboy on Wallstreet, Deepest Lake in North America
